Snowdonia
General Information
Snowdonia is located in the Gwynedd region of Wales, United Kingdom and is the highest mountain in Wales. It is also the busiest mountain in terms of tourists who visit and hike it. Once at the peak the views over Wales is second to none, not to mention the views upon the hike. Designated as a national nature reserve for its rare flora and fauna, Snowdonia offers plenty to those brave enough to climb it. Walkers should always be aware of the sudden weather changes and be prepared.
The narrow-gauge Snowdonia Mountain Railway, which started in 1896 is an easier option to summit as opposed to hiking. The cliff faces of Snowdonia are also popular with rock climbing and offer the best views over Britain. The easiest town to reach the mountain climb is from Llanberis. There are a number of lakes all over the mountain varying in sizes, depths and myths.
