General Information
St Andrews is located in the Highland region of Scotland, United Kingdom, and as one of Scotland’s finest towns, St Andrews has a past steeped in history and tradition.
St Andrew’s attracts visitors from all over the world not only for it being a charming coastal town, but for its world-class golf course. The St Andrews Royal and Ancient Golf Club, founded in 1754 has been playing host to the British Open Championship for years, with many an avid golfer flocking to the town.
The St Andrews University dominates the centre of town. Founded in 1410, its elegant ivy-clad buildings and charming quadrangles provide a beautiful scene. Town centre is a series of narrow alleys and cobbled streets lined with restaurants, cafès and unique shops.
Not only does St Andrews have a great golf course, but it has two great beaches as well. Perfect for that summer holiday. There is much to see and do in the town and surrounding areas, something for everyone. The Cameron Reservoir and the Eden Estuary are popular with birdwatchers while the St Andrews Botanic Garden is filled with plants and trees.
