General Information
Tongwynlais is an area of Cardiff, in Wales, United Kingdom, and is situated on the River Taff. Tongwynlais is known to many as the entrance to the South Wales Valleys and with its famous landmark Castell Coch sitting proudly on the hillside, it is a popular little area of Cardiff.
Tongwynlais is bounded by Forest Fawr, a large forest run by the Forestry Commission, and is separated from Cardiff by a motorway road system.
Some activities to keep visitors to the area entertained are the football and rugby clubs, a 9-hole golf course and the many walks and hikes, along with the Taff cycling Trail.
