Penarth is an area of Cardiff, in Wales, United Kingdom, and was hugely popular with holiday makers during the Victorian and Edwardian eras.

Penarth is located on the beach, which gives it the feel of being a "resort town". Still consisting of beautiful architecture from the past, Penarth is pretty, tranquil and a great place to visit.

There are excellent transport links to the city centre making the area ideal for day-visitors escaping the hub of city life. Penarth Docks was once a hive of activity for the coal trade, with millions of tons of coal being transported from here each year.

Today, the docks have been developed into Penarth Marina providing excellent restaurants, shops and cafes. There are several annual events which take place here, from the yacht club regatta to an international food and drink festival.
