Moffat
General Information
Moffat is located in the Dumfries and Galloway county of Scotland, United Kingdom, and is a bustling, friendly town. Up until 1921 Moffat was a popular spa town with the Hydropathic Hotel which subsequently burnt down and was never rebuilt. Surrounded by rolling hills Moffat is ideal for hiking, while the River Annan is perfect for fishing, and various other outdoor pursuits. Rich in history and heritage the town is within a well-kept conservation area.
A Ram statue on the high street reflects the towns history as an active sheep farming community. Today Moffat is principally a tourist town which offers visitors a wide variety of attractions and activities which suits the whole family.
